We are pleased to inform you that the Joint Program BA Malang, inaugurated in 2001 by the Minister of Education Prof. Dr. Yahya Muhaimin in cooperation with the representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture Baden W|rttemberg and the Ambassador of Germany Dr. Fulda has been successfully improved and is well accepted by students and partner companies.

Berufsakademie Malang represents a cooperative education model on tertiary level. This program actual combines 62 Partners companies, the Polytechnic ITS Surabaya, the Vocational Education Development Centre (VEDC) Malang and the Berufsakademie Stuttgart. A coordinated curriculum with Berufsakademie Stuttgart enables a synchronized continuation of the study courses in Germany.

 

 

The Indonesian industry, as well as the students are extraordinarily interested in this model, which can be proofed by annually growing numbers of students and partner companies. This synchronized cooperative education offers, beside the well-known advantages of this demand orientated education model, the possibility to train potential employees cost-effectively in production plants or service facilities in Southeast Asia as well as in Germany. The potential employees are ready to work without any additional training, received knowledge about technical standards and culture in Germany and established personal contacts to the host company in the Germany. So, the companies are able to develop cost-effectively potential engineers with international experience.

This education can be provided in Mechatronics, Automation Technology and Information Technology. Two additional disciplines for economy engineers with the emphases Car and Chemistry will become established this year as pilot project.

 

On 04 October 2004, Batch 4 with 162 new students will be inaugurated officially in Malang. So, in total now 395 students are enrolled to the Joint Program BA. We would be pleased if you join us as well.

 

The Vocational Education and Development Centre (VEDC) Malang is a central education and further education centre under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education. It offers education and further education programs for teacher at technical commercial schools, for employees of companies and unemployed people. The education capacity at VEDC Malang amounts to 11.000 person-months/year. The VEDC Malang has been promoted as German Indonesian Institute for Automation Technology by the GTZ/KfW. This technical cooperation contributed much to quality improvement and international standard of the Joint Program BA education.

 

Universities and Education Institutes around Malang already established many international Cooperations abroad. Therefore the mayor of Malang is strengthening his policy to promote Malang as town of universities by signing the declaration Malang  Town of International Education within this occasion.

The VEDC with its existing co operations with German Research Institutions, Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences, Berufsakademien; as accredited further education centre for international companies like Festo, Siemens, Bosch-Rexroth, Cisco and its international qualification measures for teachers at vocational schools in Saudi Arabia and Brunei contributes decisively the realization of this declaration.
